Final Blog Post

What I found most useful was that we talked about current events almost every day at the beginning of class. I found it most interesting because it made me start to realize how important it is to be caught up with current events. As I remember reading in one of my classmates’ blogs, not keeping up with the news makes you feel like a tourist in your own country. As an adult especially its important to know what is actually going on so you don’t seem disinterested in the general public and welfare of our country. I would apply this knowledge of following the news beyond this course so that I start following news more carefully and reading newspaper articles whether it be in print or online. I don’t want to be that guy when I'm older who doesn’t really know what’s going on in the world. It’s always good to know about the news because it can be used as a means to start conversation as well.
